When you entrust your child to our care, Hope Therapy weaves in outcome based behavioral training through proven ABA naturalistic teaching strategies including games, crafts, music, and just as importantly, engaging in supervised free play with other children. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a type of behavior therapy that teaches social skills, communication, self-help skills, functional living skills and effective behavior through gentle reinforcement in a classroom setting. It's commonly described as the ‘gold standard’ for autism treatment. Many clinicians and pediatricians are advocates of ABA because of its high success rate in helping individuals on the autism spectrum disorder  (ASD) learn productive behaviors and important life skills.

I’ve been in the ABA therapy world for almost a decade and have always envisioned changing the landscape of Autism care for the better. We recently opened Hope Therapy Autism Clinic in Sherman with that goal firmly in mind. Hope Therapy is totally committed to providing access to safe, effective, and high-quality therapy for ASD children. Our number one goal has always been and will always be to be there for the whole family, the mom, the son, the dad, the brother, the sister. Navigating autism therapy for your loved one can be a challenge but together we’ll figure it out, one milestone at a time. A little help, a little hope, and a lot of love. That’s the place we call Hope Therapy, your trusted partner on the journey.

What happens after an Autism Diagnosis?

Having a child diagnosed on the autism spectrum can be a very confusing and difficult time for a family.  Moving on from an Autism diagnosis can seem daunting but allow us to help guide you through the process.Your first step after diagnosis should be asking your doctor for a prescription for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. Along with a prescription be sure to get a copy of the diagnostic report and any applicable documentation (most insurance companies will require this for treatment to be authorized.) Once you have your prescription and report in hand, you’re on your way to finding the expert care your child requires.Hope Therapy will work closely with your family to individualize the child’s treatment. We can help you create an ABA therapy plan and an environment that will help your child and your family achieve the specific goals and priorities you have in mind. It all starts with that important first step. So grab that prescription and reach out to our ABA therapy experts for guidance. Our team from front desk to owner are experts in all matter regarding this field including therapy, funding, prescription and collaborating with all those on your child's team.

Any questions? We got you.

How will ABA therapy help your child ?

ABA therapy will address the developmental deficiencies identified during an initial assessment of your child’s functioning across many areas.  With children on the spectrum, this often includes areas of verbal communication, like the ability to request things or appropriately converse with family and peers, and communicate emotions and needs. Nonverbal communication, like understanding social cues and making gestures, can also be developed.

Does ABA therapy work for Autism?

ABA therapy is the gold standard for a clinically-validated and heavily researched approach to helping children with autism.

Does ABA therapy work for Autism? My child is getting help from other providers such as a Speech Therapist and/or an Occupational Therapist… isn’t that enough?

We view these providers as valuable resources, but not ones that necessarily provide the level of intensity necessary to impact a person diagnosed with autism. Many Speech or Occupational therapy programs provide an hour or two of therapy per week as opposed to 40 hours per week with an intensive ABA program. If your child is receiving speech or occupational services from another provider, we seek to collaborate with them in order to provide a comprehensive and cohehesive treatment plan.

Does my child have to have a formal autism diagnosis to get treatment?

Children are not required to have a diagnosis for treatment but the insurance company does require a formal diagnosis in order to help cover services.
